Factories may send documents that look like a mess of tables and numbers, or refuse to ship anything without testing (even exempt products). Labs send quotes full of numbers and long test names with 4+ numbers behind that dollar sign. And the CPSC expects you, the importer, to know what of all of that actually applies.

This audit gives you a clear written plan for one product so you can test only what's needed and import with confidence.

WHAT THIS AUDIT IS

Who this is for:

• Small importers (often solo or family-run businesses) bringing products into the US.
• Sellers with their own website or selling on marketplaces like Amazon and TikTok Shop.
• Importers who've received a lab quote and want to know if every test is really needed.

What I'll review:

• Whether your product is a childrens's product, a toy, or a general use product and what that means for testing and certifications.
• Required third-party tests, and which exemptions apply to your product, materials, and finishes.
• Your lab quotations (if you have one), with any optional or duplicate tests flagged.
• Tracking labels & packaging requirements
• What you'll need ready for the CPSC Product Registry and certificate eFiling at import.
• Platform requirements for Amazon, TikTok Shop, or your own website.

What You'll Get:

• A written action plan from where you are now to ready for your next shipment.
• A list of questions and documents to request from your manufacturer if anything is missing.
• A lab-ready testing request that you can send to a CPSC-accepted lab near your factory (the exact tests required, regulations to cite, and which components to submit)
• Your plan emailed to you as a Word docx format to edit and a PDF to keep.
• Additional 14 days after delivery to email me any clarifying questions about your plan.
  (Note: Lab quotes can often take a while, so you can send it to me for review within 30 days instead of the 14 days.) 

How many audits do I need?

One audit covers one product, meaning one item would have its own Children's Product Certificate when ready to ship. Color and size variations of the same item count as one product.

• An outfit available in five colors and six sizes = 1 audit
• A card game in one box = 1 audit
• A stuffed toy and matching blanket = 2 products

HOW IT WORKS

What happens after I pay?

1. You'll receive a link to a form by email.
2. Complete the form and email any relevant documents and images.
   Documents may include: Spec sheets, SDS/MSDS, test reports, lab quotes, label proofs, etc.
   Please provide documents in English. Other languages are welcome, but I will be using automatic translators.
   Use formats: PDF, DOCX, CSV, XLSX, PNG, JPEG, links to Google docs and sheets
3. You'll receive your action plan within 10 business days (Mon-Thurs schedule) of receiving your form and documents.
   

Your timeline starts once I receive your completed form and documents.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

• Your audit follows the CPSC rules in effect on the date I write it.
• Your plan is built from the information and documents you provide. I don't test or verify your product as part of this audit.
• As the importer, you remain responsible for your product's compliance. This audit is educational guidance, not legal advice or certification.
• Lab testing fees are not included. I do offer testing coordination with a lab in the US as a separate service, however I recommend working directly with a CPSC-accepted lab closer to your manufacturer for faster turnaround and lower costs.
• Your certificate of compliance is a separate service: Children's Product Certificate for Importers (see add-on)
• Customs brokerage, ACE filings, CPSC Product Registry filings, and duty/tariff questions are not included.
• I cannot help with cosmetics, electronics, food, furniture, or soaps.
• Because each audit is custom work, this service is non-refundable.

Your audit already provides the information for your certificate: The regulations that apply, your exemptions, and any required testing. Add your CPC at checkout for $175 (regularly $250), and I'll turn your audit into your finished certifcate once your reports are ready.

Your certificate includes:

• Citations for every applicable rule, exemption, and test report.
• Your company listed as the certifying importer.
• Formatting ready for the CPSC Product Registry, marketplaces, and retailers.
• Instructions for keeping it current with new batches, retests, or product changes.
• An editable Word docx delivered by email.
